Relations of brain centers to normal and abnormal eye movements in the horizontal plane.

چکیده
Alan is a visualizing animal intimately related to his environment by the things which he sees in the world around him. His range of vision is increased by movements of the head and body and by deviations of the eyes. It seems probable that in man gaze in the horizontal plane is dominant over that in other directions, and it is such horizontal deviations which will be considered at the present time.

An uncommon case of horizontal Gaze Palsy with scoliosis and associated brain-stem anomaly (HGPPS)
HGPPS is a rare congenital disorder resulting from cranial nuclear maldevelopment and characterized by absence of conjugate horizontal eye movements, preservation of vertical gaze & convergence, progressive scoliosis developing in childhood and hypoplasia of dorsomedial brainstem structures associated with sagittal cleft of pons and medulla. We present a 19 years old male, with restriction of e...
متن کاملAnalyzing Behavioral Markers of Autistic Children Using Eye Tracking Data
Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs in the early years of life and is characterized by social impairment, verbal and non-verbal communication difficulties as well as stereotypical behaviors. Rehabilitating autistic children at the early stages of growth, in which their brain is highly flexible, yields to enhanced treatment process and provid...
متن کاملDisconjugate eye movements.
To foveate targets in different depths, the movements of the two eyes must be disconjugate. Fine measurements of eye rotations about the three principal axes have demonstrated that disconjugate eye movements may appear not only in the horizontal, but also in the vertical and torsional directions. In the presence of visual targets, disconjugate eye movements are driven by the vergence system, bu...
متن کاملUltrasonographic examination of the normal caprine neonatal brain
Ultrasonography is a safe, rapid, and non-invasive diagnostic tool that has been previously used for imaging infants and canine neonatal brains. The purpose of the present study was to describe the ultrasonographic appearance of the brain in clinically normal caprine neonates. Ultrasonographic examination was done on 12 day-old goat kids, transverse and sagittal transcranial scans were obtained...
متن کاملThe Saccadic and Neurological Deficits in Type 3 Gaucher Disease
UNLABELLED Our objective was to characterize the saccadic eye movements in patients with type 3 Gaucher disease (chronic neuronopathic) in relationship to neurological and neurophysiological abnormalities. For approximately 4 years, we prospectively followed a cohort of 15 patients with Gaucher type 3, ages 8-28 years, by measuring saccadic eye movements using the scleral search coil method. We...
